North East Culture Collective Co-odinator Stewart Aitken said “North East Culture Collective (NECC) provides opportunities across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to explore new ways to engage with communities through creative activities. The programme connects and supports creative practitioners with local organisations and community groups and provides support through a variety of different projects. North East Culture Collective is part of a Scotland-wide initiative called Culture Collective which supports 26 projects across Scotland. The aim is to connect communities in creative and meaningful ways, especially if they remain isolated or disrupted due to Covid-19.
“Currently, NECC has 12 creative practitioners working on contracts of over six months. They have projects in Banff and Turriff working with local organisations and Live Life Aberdeenshire. In Aberdeen City NECC are working with Grampian Regional Equality Council (GREC), Alcohol and Drugs Action (ADA), The Foyer, Fit Like Hubs and Aberdeen City Council’s Housing and Libraries departments on 5 projects.”
