Jacob’s Ladder has been closed for several years now but a group of local people are campaigning to get the steps reopened and accessible for the community again.
Friends of Jacob’s Ladder and Riverside Walkway was initially set up in early 2020 which meant that the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic impacted their work. However, they have been meeting online and have recently become an officially constituted group.
Their goal is to restore the ladder to its original condition in order to provide safe and easy access to and from the Grandholm Bridge for the Woodside and Tillydrone communities.
The group have been in contact with Aberdeen City Council to ask them to help with their efforts and it has been agreed that they will look into ways the paths along the river could be improved.
